Low cost air carrier AirAsia has announced appointment of Director of Flight Operations and Head of Engineering for AirAsia India, as part of readying itself for the launch of the Indian Joint Venture.
 
The company announced Amit Singh, who has 20 years of Airline Experience, as the Director of Flight Operations and Ganpathy Sampath, who has over 30 years of Aviation experience, as the Head of Engineering. 
 
Singh, in the last seven years was dedicated to developing and managing budget airlines and has more than 11,000 flying hours on the Boeing B777 and Airbus A320 and has flown with Air India, IndiGo and Scoot. Sampath has experience in the sector having served at HAL, Jet Airways, Honeywell Aerospace and Go Airlines, where his career progressed from engineer to General Manager.
 
It has appointed Vijay Gopalan as the Chief Financial Officer of the company. At present, AirAsia through its operations based in Thailand and Malaysia connect Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruchirapalli, Kochi and Kolkata.
