Textile player Alok Industries today reported a jump of 12.91 per cent in its net profit for the first quarter of the fiscal at Rs 32.01 crore as compared to Rs 28.35 crore during the corresponding period last year.
The company also reported a rise of 44.47 per cent in its total income during the quarter ended June 30, 2009, at Rs 786.54 crore as against Rs 544.45 crore during the same period last year, Alok Industries Ltd said in a statement.
"Our positioning in the industry continues to help us to handle challenging business conditions. As we move into hopefully less stressful times as compared to the immediate past few months, we are confident of our continued growth," Alok Industries Managing Director Dilip Jiwrajka said.
The company also said that its terry towel plant at Vapi and polymerisation plant at Silvassa for production of partially oriented yarn are undergoing trial runs.
Alok Industries has stakes in home textile, apparel fabrics, garments and polyester yarns.
