The Andhra Pradesh government, in association with mobile services provider Airtel, on Monday launched the MeeSeva-Airtel money services.
While MeeSeva is an electronically-delivered citizen services, Airtel Money is an account on a mobile phone wherein one can top up his Airtel Money account and use it for various products and services through a simple menu on a phone or at online merchants.

"We are focused on driving life using the mobile platform and Airtel is another example of this innovation," Sharlin Thayil, chief executive, Bharti Airtel (Andhra Pradesh), said here today.

Airtel's association with MeeSeva not only makes the payments of utility bills easier for citizens but also showcases the company's keenness to partner the government to pioneer technological and m-commerce solutions for various citizen services, he added.

Initially launched in selected nine services of revenue and departments on November 4, 2011, in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, and subsequently rolled out in all other districts in the state, state minister for information and communication technologies (ICT) Ponnala Lakshmaiah said that currently there were 37 services rendered through MeeSeva and would be increased to 100 by the end of March 2013.

e-India, the country's largest ICT event, will be held in Hyderabad from November 15,
2012.

The two-day event, which will focus on the key issues, challenges and innovations in the e-governance space, is expected to see the participation of over 4,000 delegates and visitors.
