Ashok Leyland has announced its board has decided to bring in former Nissan boss Andrew C Palmer as Additional Director under the Independent category.
The move is subject to approval of shareholders at a general meeting.
Currently, Palmer is CEO of British luxury car brand Aston Martin and earlier he was with Nissan Motor as Executive Vice President and Chief Planning Officer in September 2014 after 24-year stint.
He was one of the instrumental for a Nissan-Ashok Leyland JV for Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) in May 2008.
(An earlier version of this article misstated Andrew C. Palmer's designation in the headline. He has been appointed as additional director (independent) of Ashok Leyland, not brand ambassador. The error is regretted.)
