Asian Paints today posted a decline of 3% in its net profit at Rs 171.43 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2011 as compared to the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 177.04 crore in the quarter ended March 31, 2010, Asian Paints said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter under review, the company's net sales stood at Rs 1,607.39, an increase of 24% from Rs 1,296.09 crore posted in the year-ago period.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the firm's net profit increased marginally to Rs 775.15 crore from Rs 774.50 crore posted in the year-ago period.
During the period the firm's net sales stood at Rs 6,322.24 crore, a 23.35% jump from Rs 5,125.08 crore posted in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal.
