"With an increase in our product portfolio and success of our smartphones and hybrid computing devices, we felt it is now time to leverage the market in Gujarat. Hence, we will be setting up another 5 stores in 2015 itself," said Arnold Su, distribution manager, system business group at ASUS India. The company is eyeing consumer segments of students as well as travelling working executives for its hybrid products.
The new exclusive store features a range of smartphones, touch notebooks, ultrabooks, tablets, phablets, notebooks and hybrid devices (2-in-1 & 3-in-1 devices) viz. the Transformer Series. Users can look for phablets, gaming notebooks, multimedia notebooks, and different innovative devices as per their requirements at varied prices. ASUS has also recently launched ZenFone, a brand-new smartphone series that offers a choice of screen sizes from 4 to 6 inches, and the all new Fonepad 7 FE171CG with ZenUI. Furthermore, users can have ultimate experience with ASUS Transformer Book T100 where excellence is never out of reach and entertainment is never out of focus.
Talking about the store launch in Ahmedabad, Su said, "Gujarat has always been one of our primary focus for expanding our reach. Owing to the opportunities that this fifth-largest city and seventh-largest metropolitan area of India provides, Ahmedabad was an inevitable choice. The state resides a large number of educational and research institutions, making it a centre of higher education, science and technology. In order to timely serve and counterpart the demand which has emerged over a period of time, it was crucial to mark our presence in the city. We are hopeful that we will be able to adeptly serve all our existing and prospective customers."
Nationally as well, ASUS aims to further strengthen its retail presence by looking to add in all 200 new exclusive stores in 2015.
Quoting IDC figures, Su said that ASUS is reported to carry a market share of 6-7 per cent in India when it comes to notebooks. "We are aiming at 10 per cent market share in notebooks in India by 2015 end on the back of retail expansion," Su added.
The company already has stores in Chandigarh, Agra, New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Calicut, Goa, Thane, Raipur, Bhillai, Gurgaon, Durgapur, Kanpur, Cochin, Kolhapur, Noida, Amravati, Kottayam, Lucknow, Jaipur, Mysore, Guwahati, Dehradun, Belgaum, Hubli, Anand, Warangal, Kannur, Coimbatore, Burdwan, Imphal, Agartala, Rajkot, Junagadh, Ahmednagar, Hyderabad and various other cities.
