Taiwanese personal computer vendor and motherboards maker, Asus, is aiming at increasing its share in the Indian notebook market to 10 per cent by the end of this December, according to Unaez Quraishi, sales and distribution director (system business group)), Asus India.

According to IDC, a market research, analysis and advisory firm specialising in information technology and telecommunications, five-six million units of notebooks and netbooks were sold in India last year, of which Asus captured a 5-7 per cent market share.

“The growth will primarily be driven by our ‘Transformer’ series of books (with detachable keyboards) and our phablet portfolio. We will be launching a 10.1-inch touch notebook powered by AMD’s Temash platform in the Indian market sometime this calendar,” he said.
