Bain sells 2.81% stake in Hero for Rs 1,481 cr

On the National Stock Exchange Bain Capital sold 3.2 million shares of the company at Rs 2,636.76 per share for Rs 846.02 cr

US-based private equity company, Bain Capital, on Friday sold 5.61 million shares or 2.81 per cent stake in Hero MotoCorp, India’s biggest two-wheeler maker, for Rs 1,481 crore.

The company which holds 8.58 per cent stake in the Delhi-based company sold 2.4 million shares at Rs 2,636.15 for Rs 635.17 crore through its local outfit BC India Private Investors II on the BSE.

On the National Stock Exchange, Bain Capital sold 3.2 million shares of the company at Rs 2,636.76 a share for Rs 846.02 crore. Meanwhile Goldman Sachs Singapore PTE bought shares of Hero MotoCorp on Friday. The company purchased 1.04 million shares worth Rs 275.42 crore at Rs 2,635.59 a share. The stock of Hero MotoCorp ended the day 4.42 per cent lower at Rs 2,588.85 on the BSE as against its previous day’s close.
