Bajaj Electricals Q2 net loss at Rs 16 cr

Net sales during Q2, 2013-14 stood at Rs 959 crore

Bajaj Electricals today reported net loss of Rs 16.36 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013-14 fiscal.

The company had reported net profit of Rs 26.92 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, 2012-13, Bajaj Electricals said in a filing to the BSE.

Its net sales during Q2, 2013-14 stood at Rs 958.64 crore, up 30.83%, from Rs 732.70 crore during the same period last year.

Revenues from the lighting segment stood at Rs 250.93 crore, as against Rs 201.75 crore, while revenues from the consumer durables segment increased to Rs 453.93 crore from Rs 398.82 crore.

Revenues from the engineering projects segment were Rs 254.48 crore this quarter against Rs 132.71 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's shares were trading at Rs 159.40 per scrip in the afternoon trade on the BSE, down 4.95% from the previous close.
