| Ballarpur Industries, India's biggest maker of writing and printing paper, said second-quarter profit increased 18.3 per cent. |
| Net income, including that of its units, gained to Rs 73.88 crore in the three months ended December 31 from Rs 62.45 crore a year earlier, the company based in Gurgaon, near New Delhi, told the BSE. Sales rose 23.3 per cent to Rs 749 crore. Ballarpur's net profit increased to Rs 66.7 crore from Rs 62.15 crore. |
| Sonata Software Q3 net dips |
| IT consulting and software services company Sonata Software has recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 15.68 crore during the third quarter of 2007-08, a marginal dip from the Rs 15.71 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, the company announced today. |
| Sales were 27 per cent higher at Rs 361 crore in the period over that in the corresponding period a year ago. |
