Be more innovative, minister tells steel firms

Beni Prasad Verma appreciates SAIL for its light-weight steel, which can be used for manufacturing LPG cylinders

Steel Minister Beni Prasad Verma today asked steel companies to innovate and manufacture products that can be used in households.

"Such items will help fulfill market demand and increase sales," Verma said inaugurating the steel pavilion at the India International Trade Fare (IITF) 2012 here today.

He complimented the exhibitors for the efforts made for popularising steel and promoting its use in the country while observing the exhibits put up by ten Public sector companies under the Ministry of Steel besides three private sector companies.

He also appreciated Steel Authority of India (SAIL) for displaying light-weight steel, which can be used for manufacturing LPG cylinders.

This year's theme for the pavilion was 'Skilling India' which depicts the impact of steel on the society. The participants showed off their products and services and connect of these products with the populace in general.
