Bengaluru-based health and fitness start-up HealthifyMe made its first global foray with its launch in Malaysia. The start-up is also planning expansion into Indonesia, Singapore and some regions in the West Asia.

The six-year-old company has also raised $6 million from InnoVen Capital, a venture debt fund, and existing investors to fuel its growth. Early this year, HealthifyMe raised $12 million in series B financing led by Sistema Asia Fund.

HealthifyMe is a personal health training and nutrition app. It has also integrated a chat assistant called Ria that tracks the user’s workouts and suggest personalised diet and fitness plans, among other features.

Founded by Tushar Vashist, a former banker, and ex-Google executive Sachin Shenoy, HealthifyMe is also one of the earliest companies in India to be backed by Samsung Next, the innovation arm of electronics major Samsung. The other early investors include IDG Ventures India (now Chiratae Ventures), Inventus Capital, and Blume Ventures.

EatBetter is another product on the platform. A health food marketplace which offers a catalogue of health bars, protein bars and nutritional supplements.

The full services are available for Rs 299 per month.
