BG Raghupathy's daughter joins BGR energy board

Swarnamugi Karthik also appointed director, Corporate Strategy with immediate effect

Swarnamugi Karthik, daughter of BGR Energy Systems Ltd promoter B G Raghupathy, today joined the company board as an Additional Director and was then appointed whole time director.

The appointment was approved by the Board of Directors during the Board meeting held on February 8, 2013.

31-year old Swarnamugi Karthik whose father is Chairman & Managing Director of BGR Group of companies, has been appointed as Director–Corporate Strategy by the Board with immediate effect.

She is an Engineering Graduate from Madras University and holds a Post Graduate qualification in Embedded Systems. She was inducted into the company in 2005 as Executive Assistant to the President and worked her way up in project execution. 

She was then deputed to work in the Power Project Division of BGR Energy.  She has been involved in Central Procurement, Corporate Monitoring and Business Strategy.  

Swarnamugi’s role will be to formulate strategies to achieve corporate goals and identifying new business opportunities.
