BIAL gets ISO 27001 certification

Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) today became one of the first airport operators to receive the ISO 27001 certification. This certification is recognized internationally as an Information Security Management System Standard.

BIAL attained the certification post a series of audits conducted by BSI India at BIAL offices and across all airport IT systems, which include Common Use Terminal Equipment, Common Use Self-Service, baggage tracking and flight information systems, a BIAL press release said.

"We are extremely proud that our Information Security Management System complies with the stringent ISO 27001 certification standards."

"Information security has always been put on priority at BIAL and our ICT department has been carrying out various programs and initiatives to ensure we meet the certification standards" said Marcel Hungerbuehler, President of BIAL on receiving the certification.
