Birla Corp Q2 net falls by 21.93%

Net sales of the company grew by almost 8% to Rs 767.11 cr

Birla Corporation Ltd, flagship company of MP Birla group said its net profit fell by 21.93% to Rs 32.46 crore in the second quarter as compared to the period a year ago. The company posted a profit of Rs 99.52 crore in the corresponding period of the last financial year.

The company, which is the manufacturer of Birla Cements said its revenue from the cement segment went up by a meagre 0.9% to Rs 719.45 crore on y-o-y basis.

Net sales of the company grew by almost 8% to Rs 767.11 crore against Rs 710.71 crore in the year ago period.
