Verifying the credentials of potential tenants - be it domestic helps or recruits of a company or delivery boys or software engineers - can often be tedious.

Bengaluru-based BetterPlace Safety Solutions provides trust score and safety profiles through its web portal and mobile app. The one-year-old start-up recently raised an undisclosed amount from Unitus Seed Fund.

"We have built a technology that can create a trust score of an individual, leveraging the Aadhaar identification. An user can create a digital locker to save his/her safety profile, request verification and generate safety rankings, while employers can figure out the right candidate for their companies," says co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Pravin Agarwala.

BetterPlace, which counts HouseJoy, CommonFloor, RoadRunnr and Swiggy as customers, aims to provide safety solutions, including profiling services, to 10 million people by 2016. It is gearing up to launch a new product next month, which it says will be an intelligent and analytical way to ensure safety. It, however, wants to keep much of its features under wraps until launch day.

"We are working on solutions that can touch every citizen. We don't create something which is an 'out-of-the-box' kind of a piece. We customise our annual subscription-based model, sometimes as a package and sometimes a la carte," he added.
