Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals, engaged primarily in manufacture and distribution of fertiliser, textiles and food processing, posted 20 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 47.57 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 59.34 crore in the corresponding period last year.
However, net sales of the company more than doubled at Rs 174.51 crore in the Q2, 2009 as compared to Rs 73.07 crore in the comparable period last year.
On half yearly basis the company reported a drastic decline in net profit at Rs 71.36 crore from Rs 121.07 crore on a turnover of Rs 2,534.26 croe (Rs 1,315.86 crore).
