Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), has registered a Rs 211 crore turnover during the 2009-10 fiscal, registering 23 per cent growth, as compared to the previous year, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan today said.
Of the Rs 211 crore turnover, Rs 24 crore was from the users fee, Achutanandan, who is also the CIAL Chairman, said at the company's annual general meeting here.
CIAL's net profit touched Rs 77 crore from Rs 59 crore during 2008-09. The company also announced a 12 per cent dividend.
There were plans to increase revenue from aviation and non-avaiation sectors, he said, adding, CIAL would set up a hotel, hospital, shopping mall, multiplex, trade and exhibition centre and more duty free shops at the airport complex with a Rs 118-crore investment. The trade and exhibition centre would be ready by next year.
CIAL is also planning to start flights to new sectors to attract chartered aircrafts and flight companies, he said.
