Fine bone-china and ceramic tableware maker Clay Craft India on Monday announced the acquisition of the Jaipur Ceramics Pvt. Ltd. (JCPL) brand, a statement issued by the company said.

The statement further said  that the move is expected to increase the former’s distributor and retailer network.

Speaking on the acquisition, Padam Narian Agarwal, managing director, Clay Craft India, says, “We are happy to announce the acquisition of JCPL brand which is still having its footmarks and a vast network across India. Clay Craft group will run Jaipur Ceramic brand parallel to its existing brands.”

Agarwal further said, “The supply of the additional market demand will be satisfied by Clay Craft India’s existing facility initially. To satisfy additional demand under JCPL brand, the group has also planned to set up one plant at an investment of Rs  100 crore by the end of the year. JCPL’s global network will help us to bring global distributorship expertise and we will utilise it to increase our presence in global markets.”

The Indian Ceramic and Bone China Industry has been growing and has become the largest suppliers of bone-china articles in Europe replacing large industries, which have been the manufacturers of bone-china for more than 300 years.

In the face of stiff global competition and emerging trends, the ceramic and glass industry in India has been growing at 25  per cent.

Agarwal further said, “This move will prove to be beneficial as Clay Craft India’s brand will have an added shelf space in retail market giving a boost to the business. This will also add new varieties into our product portfolio.”

Clay Craft India, which has nearly 10,000 retail counters and over 150 channel partners, enjoys partnership with major retailers like Big Bazaar, Home Center, Lifestyle, Spencer, among others.

Clay Craft India Pvt. Ltd. is India’s leading manufacturer and retailer of bone-china tableware in its segment. Established in 1994, the company has emerged as India’s leading player with over Rs  150 crore turnover in household and hospitality segments.
