Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Patel Engineering's Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar said, "Our focus remains on delivering long-term value for our stakeholders while continuously enhancing operational efficiency and output."
"With this strong foundation in place, we are poised to build a brighter future for Patel Engineering Limited and creating lasting value for India's infrastructure development," she added.
The Mumbai-based engineering, procurement, and construction firm has a strong presence in tunnels and underground works for hydroelectric and dam projects.

Food regulator FSSAI has sought explanation from quick commerce firm Blinkit on a complaint by a person who allegedly fell sick after consuming curd ordered from the platform, sources said.
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has received a written complaint from a person who allegedly had to seek medical help after falling sick following the consumption of curd bought from e-commerce platform Blinkit, they added.
Medical prescription has also been attached in the complaint registered with FSSAI.
According to sources, FSSAI has written a letter on May 29 to the CEO of Blink Commerce Pvt Ltd), apart from person In-charge of operations after it received a complaint from a person who had ordered curd through the Blinkit mobile application.
The complainant allegedly developed severe stomach ache and diarrhoea shortly after consumption of the curd and had to seek medical help, they added.

Avaada Group is looking to add renewable energy projects totalling 5 gigawatt (GW) in the current financial year as the company has signed PPAs and received connectivity approvals for the upcoming capacities, a company executive said.
The group was able to add 2 GW of renewable energy projects during the last financial year, said Chairman Vineet Mittal.
Another 1-2 GW capacity could have been added in FY26 but due to issues related to signing of PPAs and transmission infrastructure , the company was unable to do so, he noted.
"Last year we could have brought 1-2 gigawatts more, but due to delays in the signing of PPAs and delays in full readiness of the transmission system, we had to align our commissioning schedule with the readiness transmission system," Mittal said in reply to a question if his company had to push timelines for planned capacities due to transmission and grid connectivity issues.

Alok Sanghi, former promoter of Sanghi Industries, has withdrawn his plea before the appellate tribunal, NCLAT, against Ambuja Cements following the settlement of a dispute with the country's second-largest cement manufacturer.
The withdrawal has brought the litigation between the two over Sanghi's personal guarantee of Rs 84 crore to a close.
Ambuja Cements, which acquired Sanghi Industries in 2023 in a Rs 5,185 crore deal, has already withdrawn its plea against Alok Sanghi filed before the Ahmedabad bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) on April 10, 2026.
Sanghi had moved the appellate tribunal, NCLAT, challenging an NCLT order passed in November 2025 on Ambuja Cements' insolvency plea regarding a personal guarantee of Rs 84 crore extended by him. The NCLT had appointed an interim resolution professional after the plea.
