Dish TV banks on affordability

India’s largest directo-to-home company Dishtv has re-introduced the set top box free offer on buying content of Rs 1,990, till January 15.

The move is significant because by offering lowest entry cost Dishtv has made digital television more affordable.

Anindya Sengupta, deputy vice president- sales (East), Dishtv, said, “Affordability is key to the spread of DTH. We are offering the lowest entry cost and largest bouquet of channels.”

The offer comes with additional installation charges of Rs 200.

Dishtv is the market leader in DTH in India and part of the biggest media conglomerate Zee group. Dishtv offers 250 channels and services including 21 audio channels with over 6 million subscribers. Dishtv has a vast distribution network of about 700 distributors and 48,000 dealers that spans around 6600 towns in India.
