The survey found that the disproportionate ratio of approximately 10:1 (stating jobs v/s openings) is the employment scenario in the IT Industry. It also raised questions on whether this means a huge mismatch between education, employment and actual talent required for a job title.
Also, the survey found that people either change their job or switch to a different field, within two years of working.
"Hence, either they are not doing what they desire or they are not aware about the current market trend," said the survey.
With respect to programming languages like Java for example, though 50% of the youth are qualified, there are only 26% of the total jobs available in Java, the survey pointed out.
Rachit Jain, Founder of www.Youth4work.com said, "After conducting this survey, it is clearly seen that there is a huge talent mismatch that we are facing today. Even if you hire someone in your team until he performs you won’t be able to know whether he has the required talent or not. And if he doesn’t possess the right kind talent, then one has to undergo the hiring process all over again."
Youth4work.com, is a platform that identifies and assesses the talent of a youth via yTest. These tests are global testing platforms to assess the talents of the candidates applying for jobs.
