The company in a statement said SBPDCL had invited DPSC for appointment as a distribution franchise in Gaya Town and adjoining areas. The license area was around 190 sq km with both high and low tension consumers. The company declined to reveal the revenue impact and details of expansion of the distribution business.
It was earlier known as the Dishergarh Power Supply Company Ltd, one of the oldest power utility companies in the country and was incorporated in 1919 in West Bengal.The company generated 12 MW from its coal-based thermal power plant at Dishergarh and the rest sourced from DVC.The company has license for supply of electricity in and around Asansol-Ranigunj area spread over 618 sq km.
