As the Formula One (F1) 2012 continues this weekend, e-commerce websites are gearing up to cater to the fans. Websites like Snapdeal.com, Shersingh.com and Fashionandyou.com are offering special range of products for F1 enthusiasts.
The F1 collection includes T-shirts, wallets, posters, cufflinks, pendrives and so on, from brands like Puma, Cosco and XQ. All that the fans need to do is, log onto the website, select the product and buy it.
For instance, Snapdeal.com has launched its new F1 themed collection. The collection covers a range of products across categories like sports, fitness, music instruments, toys for kids and infants, audio-video gaming, watches, bags and accessories.
Says Sandeep Komaravelly, VP – Marketing, Snapdeal.com, “We have tied up with Puma to offer their product through out platform. We are offering clothes (T-shirts, jackets, caps) and souvenirs like prototypes of car and toys.” There are some 25-30 products on offer on the website, which cost anywhere between Rs 600 to Rs 3,000, depending on the product.
Snapdeal has also engaged customers on the social media platform (Facebook and Twitter) in a contest on F1. And the winners were given couple passes to the Grand Prix.
Sher Singh, specialising in class sports lifestyle, is launching the “Race Day Collection with special edition Polos. The collection’s highlights are 3 new Polos with full sleeves. The colours on these shirts have been inspired by racing elements such as the Monaco Grand Prix and the Chicane among others, explains Rahul Batra, men's brand director at Sher Singh. Sher Singh has a whole lot of cricket lifestyle Polo collection.
“We've designed the Polos keeping in mind a jeans, Polo, cap-clad 30-year old. This is a classic F1 look on a Sunday afternoon,” says Batra. Short-sleeved Polos will go online from tomorrow.
Sher Singh has relaunched the Black India Polo and a special version in white to support the Indian race team. F1 fans also have the Spain and France polo are especially appealing. Additionally, if you are shopping with Sher Singh for the first time, you can get a 20 per cent discount. Here, the pinch on your pocket can be anywhere between Rs 899 and Rs 1,699.
"This offering may not push up the number of registered users on our site significantly. It's just an event-based offering for a niche target," says Komaravelly.
