In a bid to offer sports infrastructure solutions and consulting facilities for public schools, EduSports has initiated talks with the Gujarat government for a potential tie-up. The company is looking to offer sports infrastructure solutions for the government schools in the state.
"We have initiated talks with the Gujarat government even as we look to offer sports infrastructure and consulting solutions for government schools. Moreover, we are also looking at private schools for partnering for the same. Gujarat as a market is increasingly eyeing sports as an important part of education as any other subject ," said Saumil Majumdar, co-founder and CEO, EduSports which offers school sports and PE curriculum.
EduSports will also expand its partnerships with schools in Gujarat. EduSports currently offers sports and PE curriculum to about eight schools comprising 5,500 students in Gujarat. "We are looking at partnering with another 10 such schools in Gujarat whereby we will extend our reach to over 10,000 students in the state. Of these, we intend to initiate training in five schools by June this year," said Majumdar. Nationally, founded in 2009, EduSports began its operations with 10 schools and is on Thursday working with over 160 schools and more than 130,000 children across 60 cities. EduSports has secured PE funding from Seed Fund Capital in the sports education vertical.
Its existing partners in state include Udgam School and Calorx School in Ahmedabad, Zenith School in Vadodara and Essar International School in Hazira, among others.
