The project, on a turnkey basis, is for the establishment of a 220kv gas insulated sub-station at Bhandup in Mumbai, a press release issued here stated.
This is the second project that Emco has received from MSETCL in the last six months.
Gas insulated sub-stations are essential in the transmission of electrical power to growing urban centres where conventional air insulated sub-stations can no longer meet the requirements of available space, pollution, safety, maintenance and other similar expectations, the release said.
Emco, focusing primarily in transmission and distribution segment of the power sector, is the third largest manufacturer of transformers in the country and a leading player in electronic energy meters and turnkey electrical sub-station and transmission line projects up to 765 kv.
