Fiat Group Automobiles India, the 100 per cent subsidiary of the Italian car making giant, has fully taken over the responsibility of selling Fiat cars in India which was formerly the prerogative of Tata Motors.

Both companies had agreed last year to dissolve the six year old sales and distribution joint venture after the set up failed to provide satisfying results.

Under the new agreement which allowed Fiat to set up its own national sales company, also set the March 31, 2013 deadline for moving sales and distribution business to the new company.
