The service majorly covers all the baby and kids essentials that are required on a day to day basis by mothers like lotion, shampoo and diaper. The company has roped in logistics player XpressBees to launch the service across India.
"With this new service, parents can easily order for essentials that they may require anytime in a day without any extra cost. Such a service also will help us build higher Net Promoter Score (NPS) and build more loyalty with our customers. There is no platform in the country today which promises same day or next day across 75 cities at no extra cost. It is a very big milestone for us & our customers and we will continue to expand number of cities under this service. We aim to tap into the baby care consumables market such as wipes, diapers, bath and skincare - products typically sourced from the neighborhood chemist," Supam Maheshwari, CEO & founder, FirstCry.com said.
The company has recently raised USD 36 million (about Rs 224 crore) in a fresh round of funding led by VC funds Valiant Capital Partners and New Enterprise Associates.
Started in September 2010, FirstCry is owned by Brainbees Solutions and has over 800 national and international brands with more than 90,000 product offerings. FristCry's other investors include SAIF Partners and Temasek Holdings.
At present, the firm has over 100 branded franchisee stores across 85 cities in the country, besides distribution partnerships with over 5,000 hospitals.
