E-commerce marketplace Flipkart, along with Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC), and Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), earlier this week held a workshop for small entrepreneurs to understand how to grow businesses online.

The workshop, which was attended by over 120 sellers, covered subjects such as on-boarding processes, return policies, and serviceability and commission structure for sellers, Flipkart said in a release on Friday. Sellers who attended the workshop came from varied business categories like handicrafts, home decor, furnishing, kitchen, footwear, jewelry, electronics and mobile.

"Karnataka is home to a large number of local entrepreneurs. We see a lot of potential for the sellers in this region and our aim is to empower them to explore the marketplace model and grow their customer base," Ankit Nagori, senior vice president - marketplace at Flipkart said.

"With sessions like these, we want to introduce sellers to this platform and its benefits." As per reports, in June this year, Flipkart had over 3,000 sellers, and it expected the same to go up to 12,000 by December.
