According to government sources, global names like Germany's Getrag Transmission and US-based Visteon Corporation, apart from Canada headquartered Magna International, have already taken up land at Sanand to set up manufacturing facilities.
“In all, 15 vendors have taken up 150 acres at Sanand besides the Ford India plant. Some, including Getrag, Motherson Sumi and Magna International, have also begun work on construction of their facilities as Ford India has given them a deadline of mid-2014 to start supply from the site,” said a government official in the know of the development.
