Greatship Global Energy Servies, a subsidiary of Greatship (India), which in turn is a subsidiary of The Great Eastern Shipping Company, has ordered Lamprell Energy to construct a mobile offshore self elevating drilling rig.
The company, in a statement, said that the rig is expected to be delivered to Greatship Global in the third quarter of the next financial year, i.e Q3FY13.
It said, “The rig is an independent leg cantilever type Jack up righ with 15,000 PSI pressure rating, designed to operate in water depths of up to 350 feet and will have a rated drilling capacity of 30,000 feet.”
This will be Greatship Global’s third jack up rig. The company had entered into a Memorandum of Agreement for the purchase of a 350 feet jack up drilling rig last month.
