Global consultancy Protiviti, which has significant presence in India, is all set to acquire the internal audit business of a company in the country and the deal is expected to be announced soon.

Protiviti, one of the largest independent business and risk consulting firm, operates in India through its arm Protiviti Consulting Pvt Ltd.

"We are going to acquire the internal audit business of a leading company in India. The deal will be announced in a few days," Protiviti Executive Vice-President (International Operations) Gary Peterson told PTI.

Without disclosing any financial details, he said the buyout would boost Protiviti's business presence in India.

"The acquisition will be the first of its kind by our Indian arm. It (buyout) will not only strengthen Protiviti's manpower size and client base (in India), but will also be a good cultural fit for the company," Peterson said.

According to him, the company -- which is selling its internal audit business -- also has operations of external audit and taxation.

Protiviti Consulting has enough money to fund the planned acquisition, he added.

Peterson pointed out that Protiviti is focused on organic growth but would also look at inorganic opportunities that would help in bolstering the company's business.

Protiviti, which started India operations in 2006, has over 100 employees in the country and has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
