GlobalLogic, provider of outsourced product development services and R&D, today announced that it is opening a new engineering center in Slovakia. The center will be located in the city of Kosice, the second largest city in the country, and will be headed up by Ivan Hruska , former president of Ness Europe and an entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of technology experience.

PE player Apax partners had acquired the company last year for $420 million. The company was founded by four IITians.

The new center will provide more opportunities for the growth of the company, its customers and global product development, said the company. As a member of the EU, and its close proximity to the US and Europe, Slovakia is one of the most rapidly growing economies in Europe and has a strong focus on R&D and innovation in the technology sector.

"We're expanding our business and continuing to grow the company in key markets around the world," said CEO Shashank Samant. "The new center in Slovakia is a proof point of our strategy to expand to Central Europe and continue providing our customers with the best engineering talent across the world. I am fully confident that Ivan and the management and engineering team he is building in Kosice will further solidify our position in the European market."

As a player in software R&D services, GlobalLogic is focused on product development innovation. GlobalLogic leverages its global experience and expertise in design and engineering to build partnerships with market-defining businesses and technology leaders who want to make amazing products, discover new revenue opportunities and accelerate time to market.
