General Motors India has asserted its plan to launch the brand new mini car by December this year while the proposed sedan Cruze would be launched in another four to five months. Thecompany would continue to expand its dealership network from present 195 sales points to 250 by December this year.
General Motors India vice-president P Balendran told Business Standard, the company has not altered any of its business plans in India in the wake of company's weakening situation in the US.
"We will launch the planned new mini car by December this year. Apart from this, our sedan Cruze too would hit Indian roads in another four to five months," Balendran asserted.
General Motors plans to hold free service and sales camps every quarter across all major cities in India including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and others. The first of this series was held in Pune on May 2 and 3.
"Pune remaind the hub of developments for General Motors India. The work of our engines plant is on full-swing in Talegaon. The plant would be ready by December 2010," he added.
