GoDaddy bets big on small businesses

Globally, company plans to radically shift global business towards small businesses

US-based domain name and web hosting provider GoDaddy it plans to take India operations as a blueprint to extend its global reach and footprint. It also considers India, where it saw a 86 per cent growth in customer base, as a growth engine for its worldwide operations.

Terming Indian small and medium enterprises a wonderful opportunity, James Caroll, senior vice president-International, GoDaddy, said: “Considering price sensitivities and desire among the SMEs to be present on web, we have and are in the process of further localising our offerings by working partnerships with all players.”  

The company is focusing on making internet more relevant to India and its needs.Globally, GoDaddy plans to radically shift global business towards small businesses (SMBs).  With an eye on rural SMBs, it has made available common platform for resellers to market their web hosting services to last mile customers, making it a one stop shop for buyers and sellers.

The platform equipped with GoDaddy's customer support services, tools and solutions, has helped resellers bring down operation costs and improve connectivity besides giving business value to it, he said.
