GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare today reported a 30 per cent jump in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 at Rs 71.75 crore from the same period a year ago.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 55.19 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
Net sales during the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal stood at Rs 537.35 crore, from Rs 469.37 crore in the same period of the last fiscal, up by 14.48 per cent.
For the six months' period ended June, the company's net profit had risen to Rs 167.91 crore from Rs 139.08 crore in the same period a year ago, up 20.72 per cent.
The net sales in the six months' period were at Rs 1,185.78 crore, an increase of Rs 177.33 crore from the same period in the previous fiscal.
The company, which has a major presence in nutrition markets, produces popular brands like Horlicks and Boost.
