GSK Pharmaceuticals Ltd has posted a growth of 49 per cent in net profit for the quarter ended 31 June 2005 at Rs 103.4 crore as against Rs 72.9 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
 
The company's total income during the period under review is up at Rs 478.4 crore from Rs 372.6 crore registered in the corresponding period last year. GSK registered a strong sales growth of 29 per cent during this quarter offsetting the sales decline of 23 per cent arising from reduction in stock levels by the trade due to VAT uncertainties, said the company sources.
 
The company announced also that during the quarter, the company bought 269529 shares from the market and the promoter's post buy back holding is 50.7 per cent.
