HCC bags Rs 345 cr order from Sardar Sarovar

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) today bagged a Rs 345.30 crore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order from Gujarat government's undertaking Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam for the construction of a 57 km canal.

"The scope of work under EPC contract involves designing and construction canal, services and approach roads and maintenance work for a period of five years from the date of commissioning," HCC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The project, Kachchh Branch Canal (Package-II), is slated for completion by December 2013.

HCC has so far built 22 dams across the country including six dams built for irrigation projects. It has also built 18 major barrages having a cumulative length of 12,000 meters.

The scrip of the company closed 1.39% down to Rs 35.55 per share on the BSE.
