Rajat Bhargava has been appointed as the Head of Strategy & Performance Transformation and Marcus Feichtner has joined the company as the Head of the newly-created division of Engine Design & Development. Both these appointments are with immediate effect.
Bhargava comes from McKinsey & Company where he was Senior Partner based out of Gurgaon, while Feichtner comes in from the globally-renowned engine specialists, Austria-headquartered AVL, where he was the Executive Director of AVL’s India Technical Centre, also based out of Gurgaon.
Bhargava will be part of Hero MotoCorp’s top leadership group and will report directly to the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Pawan Munjal. Feichtner will report to the Head of Research & Development.
Pawan Munjal said “We are today presented with an array of exciting opportunities on a number of fronts. Capturing them sharply will be a critical priority for Hero MotoCorp. Rajat has the ideal expertise and experience to play an important role in helping us do this. He will develop and execute the group performance agenda, define and drive special initiatives, and support me on our performance transformation initiatives. As we go through one of our most exciting phases, a technological ecosystem will also form the core foundation of our growth. This is where Markus will play a critical role with the ideal credentials, experience and domain knowledge in strengthening this development process.”
In his earlier stint, Bhargava co-led McKinsey's Operations and Industrial Practices in India and led the Purchasing & Supply Management Practice in Asia Pacific. At McKinsey, he worked with Automotive OEMs, Suppliers and other Industrial companies on bottom line improvement, strategy and organization transformation.
He served companies across India, Australia, North Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle-East. Rajat has done his B. Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Delhi, and MBA from IIM Ahmedabad.
With AVL as one of the technology partners of Hero MotoCorp, Feichtner has already been working closely with the company.
