Two-wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today reported 6% increase in total sales for May at 1,45,729 units.
The company's total sales stood at 1,37,842 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, HMSI said in a statement.
During May, motorcycle sales grew 16% to 69,488 units as against 60,040 units in May 2010, it added.
The company, however, reported a decline of 2% in scooter sales to 76,241 units last month from 77,802 units during the same month last year.
