Honda rolls out training programme

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Limited (HMSI), the 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan-based Honda Motor Company, launched its Honda Riding Trainer (HRT) programme here on Tuesday.

This is the sixth such centre in the state where the two-wheeler major has launched the programme.

The HRT porgramme is aimed at educating the bike riders on road safety and easy riding and the company plans to roll out the programme in four more towns of the state by March 31 this year.

The company claimed to have received a satisfactory response to the HRT programme.

During the week long Road Safety Week-2010 observed from January 1-7, HMSI trained 350 new learners in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The training was provided in collaboration with the transport department of the state government.

The HRT facility which is set up at the company's exclusive showrooms is an integral part of the business activities of HMSI.

HRT is a state-of-the-art, compact, computer driven machine that puts riders in real life road traffic situations through a wide variety of options. This riding trainer will enable the riders to predict various dangerous situations on road and learn to be a safe rider. The master trainers of the company will guide the new learners. The first HRT facility was launched by HMSI at Gurgaon with the objective of making the two wheeler riders of Honda role models in safe riding. To promote safety amongst customers, the HMSI is banking on the 4S concept which includes sales, service, spares and safety.

HMSI also rolled out its latest 110-cc bike- CB Twister in the city on the occasion.
