HT Media Q2 net up 76% at Rs 63.85 crore

Company posted a net profit of Rs 36.23 crore in the corresponding period a year ago

HT Media Ltd today reported 76.23% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 63.85 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013, driven increase in other income.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 36.23 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Net sales during the quarter under review went up by 5.17% to Rs 526.83 crore in the quarter as against Rs 500.93 crore a year ago, the company said in a BSE filing.

Other income in the July-September, 2013 period stood at Rs 56.95 crore as compared to Rs 24.38 crore in the corresponding period last year.

HT Media's total expenses in the quarter ended September 30, 2013 were at Rs 492.61 crore, an increase of 2.93% as against Rs 478.57 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Shares of HT Media were trading at Rs 93.45 apiece in the afternoon trade, up 0.43% from its previous close on the BSE.
