Hyundai regains second spot from Tata Motors in July

Hyundai Motor India wrested the position of India's second biggest carmaker from Tata Motors in July by selling 28,811 units, a month after losing the spot to the rival, even as the battle continued.
Despite the increased sales of Nano after its Sanand facility in Gujarat started production, Tata Motors' domestic sales in July stood at 27,864 units last month.
Tata Motors had sold 9,000 units of the Rs 1-lakh car in July, while the figure had touched 7,704 units in June.
In June, Tata Motors claimed the second spot by selling 27,811 units, compared to Hyundai Motor's 27,366.First Published: Aug 02 2010 | 5:10 PM IST
