Infrastructure finance company, IDFC, today appointed Vivek Bajpeyi as Deputy Chief Risk Officer. Bajpeyi has 23 years of experience in corporate and investment banking (CIB), which includes credit/ risk management, origination and distressed assets, with multi-national institutions.

Prior to joining IDFC, Bajpeyi was involved in setting up CreditAlpha Alternatives – a mezzanine financing venture. He has also worked with Nomura, India as MD and Head of Risk Management, India and had a similar role at Lehman Brothers, overseeing integrated risk (Credit, Market and Ops Risk) for all businesses.

He has also worked with Deutsche Bank, ANZ Grindlays Bank and Bank of America in various business and risk roles in multiple geographies, including as Head of Chennai region responsible for the CIB platform.

Bajpeyi holds a Bachelor degree in Technology (Hons) from the IIT -Kharagpur and a PGDM from the IIM -Bangalore.
