Info Edge Q4 Net up 59% at Rs 6.34 cr

The standalone net sales of the firm rose by 10% to Rs 116.06 crore in January-March quarter of 2012-13

Internet firm Info Edge, which owns job portal naukri.Com, today reported 59% rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 6.34 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3.99 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a BSE filing.

The standalone net sales of the firm rose by 10% to Rs 116.06 crore in January-March quarter of 2012-13 fiscal against Rs 105.88 crore in the same quarter of 2011-12 fiscal.

On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit fell by 11% to Rs 91.59 crore in 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 103.33 crore in 2011-12 fiscal.

Consolidated net sales of Info Edge rose to Rs 469.95 crore for 2012-13 from Rs 390.30 crore for 2011-12.

In a statement, Info Edge (India) CFO and Director Ambarish Raghuvanshi said: "Results can be described as trying to make the best of a difficult situation. The main objective is to continue to invest in product, technology and sales across our businesses."

As a result, margins have declined in the year but this is in the long term interest of the business. As the business environment improves, businesses should be well positioned to benefit from the turnaround, he added.

Info Edge also runs matrimonial site Jeevansathi.Com, real estate portal 99acres.Com and education website Shiksha.Com, among others.
