Infotrek Syscom, an electronics recycling company, is planning to enhance the current recycling capacity and to set up nationwide collection mechanism, warehousing and setting up the precious metal recovery facility at an investment of Rs 100 crore.
The Mumbai-based company in a BSE filing said that recycling of electrical and electronic wastes (e-waste) in the organised sector is taking a shape of an industry which, it believes, will be amongst the most vibrating industries of the coming decade.
In a span of just two years of its existence, Eco Recycling (subsidiary of Infotrek Syscon), has developed great awareness about the hazards of waste electrical and electronic equipments (WEEE) and need for systematic handling. The change is visible, more and more corporate and individuals have started taking interest and approaching to Ecoreco. It may not be out of place to mention that Ecoreco is presently serving to more than 200 corporates entities spread across India.
The contribution of Ecoreco in the field of clean tech has been well recognised and honoured by CII, NVI, US Aid, British Consulate & WRI for the Best Business Plan of 2008, by Munidpalika for the most innovative technology 2009, by Sankalp as the High Impact Company under Environment & Clean Energy Track for 2009 and by the department of Science & Technology, Ficci, Lockheed Martin with the Gold Medal for its mobile shredding facility, the unique in India and having extraordinary potential in the international markets.
