What makes this little organisation special is the man behind it, CV Bhargava. Though blind, 51-year-old Bhargava, has emerged as an entrepreneur helping youth earn a few extra bucks. His sight in the right was impaired due to a reaction from penicillin injection when he was four. He managed with his left eye, which had a visibility of two metre, for more than 15 years. But, eventually lost that too.
"I was getting frustrated for being not allowed to work to my potential,"' recalls Bhargava, who took VRS from the Central Bank. Thereafter, he got trained in basic computers from the National Association for the Blind.
In May 2006, Bhargava started Suvidha along with CVM Srinivas, a practicing chartered accountant, after a few software companies rejected his requests for employment citing his disability.
Of course, he does not want sympathy from people. "I ask for an opportunity to work,'' he says.
Bhargava has conducted IT returns help desk for the GMR group, Polaris Software, G Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science, Matrix Labs, and AGI Glass Company. "It is a seasonal business," says Bhargava, who uses a talking calculator as an aid. He is now looking to file at least 2,500 applications this year.
He also plans to take a corporate broking licence and focus on part-time accounting to supplement his earnings apart from marketing digital signatures. "I intend to be a contact point for job givers and job seekers," he signs off.
