Jagran Prakashan Q3 net up 32.5% at Rs 52 cr

Media firm Jagran Prakashan has reported a 32.50 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 52.64 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 39.73 crore in the October-December quarter last fiscal, Jagran Prakashan said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income of the company also grew to Rs 286.03 crore in the December quarter from Rs 226.91 crore in the year-ago period, the filing added.

"I am pleased with the overall performance of the company. The growth in the top line was led by advertising revenue," Jagran Prakashan CMD Mahendra Mohan Gupta said.

Shares of Jagran Prakashan were trading at Rs 121.05, up 0.50 per cent from previous close in the afternoon session on BSE.
