Jet Airways has announced Amsterdam as its new European gateway and said it is ending its service to Belgian capital Brussels.
Two new daily services to Amsterdam will be launched from Mumbai and Delhi from March 27 next year with an onward connection to Toronto.
Jet Airways will end its Brussels and Newark flight with the launch of its new service to the Dutch capital.
Last month the airline said its services to Brussels had become unviable because of changes in competitive scenario.
Jet Airways has also signed a code share partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Delta covering 30 destinations in Europe and 11 destinations in US and Canada.
Sources said Schiphol airport in Amsterdam offered better connections and network opportunities than at Brussels. It is connected with 153 destinations within Europe. Jet has found it difficult to get onward passengers over Brussels because of the limited strength of its local airline partner, Brussels Airlines
Jet Airways CEO Cramer Ball said, "With Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as the new European gateway, we will be able to provide our guests with one stop access to a wider array of destinations across Europe and North America together with our partners KLM and Delta."
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol's position as one of the largest gateways in Europe with seamless connectivity to sea, rail and road transportation provides greater options for our customers, he added.
