JSW Steel has clocked an eight per cent growth in crude steel production in the first-half of FY 2011 to 3.14 million tonnes, compared to that of the corresponding period last fiscal.
Rolled products flat production expanded 32 per cent to 2.36 million tonnes in H1 FY 11, compared to the year-ago period, while rolled products long grew 44 per cent to 0.57 million tonnes in the same period in the corresponding period of the previous year, a press release issued here stated.
Crude steel production for Q2 FY 2011 stood at 1.57 million tonnes, flat rolled products at 1.27 million tonnes and long rolled products at 0.26 million tonnes, it said.
The company has started generation of power at its 300-MW captive power plant and heating of two blocks out of four blocks of Coke Oven-4, as a part of its 10 MTPA expansion project at Vijayanagar works, the release added.
